compost

Delighted to have this fabulous product. Natural, easy to use, environmentally friendly and Irish.

It is the only certified organic compost that is manufactured in Ireland.

An independent scientific plant trial indicated that this compost produced better and stronger plants that had higher fruit yields than the most widely available imported certified organic compost. It also out performed a leading conventional multipurpose compost. These findings are reflected by the testimonies of those who have used it.

The compost is produced on a commercial worm farm in Donegal and it is created when the worms digest their bedding material converting it into rich organic compost also known as “Worm Cast.”
I have just taken a fresh delivery €7.50 per bag 10 bags for the cost of 9.

Chicken Coops

After much deliberation, I finally, last March, got my chicken coop and two chickens. Here in Dalkey Garden School we are surrounded with foxes. Lucie Loo (our dog) had a fantastic chase with one a couple of weeks ago. So far, our chickens have been safe and laying!! The added life they bring to the garden and mess is worth it all. I added a third chicken this summer so I have 3 eggs every day.

Experiments carried out after the Second World War by an Austrian named Viktor Schauberger showed copper had a marked effect on improving the productivity of farmland.

The Chinese and Egyptians revered copper for its antimicrobial properties and their ideas are substantiated today.

For example, the Legionella bacterium (Legionnaire’s disease) cannot survive in copper water pipes.

By the 1950’s experimental work had proven that the use of copper implements in agriculture resulted in a distinct improvement in both quality and yield of field crops. Copper benefits soil by feeding beneficial microscopic life adding conductivity to the soils own life building energies!

Copper occurs naturally in healthy soils. These tiny particles increase water retention and in so doing contribute to the conditions for vigorous and healthy vegetation growth. Copper gardening tools take advantage of this fact to carefully improve soils in the most natural way.

Trace Elements

Plants require numerous trace elements for our healthy growth and equilibrium. Even microscopic amounts of trace elements have an important function in a healthy organism, including human beings. Copper gardening tools are especially useful in making sure copper and even gold and magnesium are absorbed by the earth in your garden.

The New Bronze Age

  • Contact with copper can improve the soil structure, which is good for your plants
  • Copper does not rust
  • The tools are hard-wearing and will last for years
  • Copper is lighter than iron or steel, so our tools are more comfortable to use.
